Overnight CCTV Investigations along Eglinton Avenue East

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be conducting CCTV investigations of the storm and sanitary sewer lines along Eglinton Avenue East. Crews will access all manholes in the roadway along Eglinton Avenue East between Midland Avenue and Laird Drive, along Transway Crescent at Kennedy Station and from approximately 50-100 meters north at all intersections to determine the condition of existing storm and sanitary lines.

Pedestrian Safety near Construction Sites

Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT line, including 15 underground stations, is underway. Since the end of school, many construction sites have been set up for station construction and the set-up of some major intersections along Eglinton Avenue has been changed.

Tunnelling for the Crosstown: What you may experience

As you know, tunnelling continues on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT) project as we build the underground portion of the future transit line. 

The tunnel boring machines (TBMs) operate around the clock - 24 hours a day, seven days week. On average, they each travel about 10 metres per day. Our TBMs are working about 20 metres below ground, but we do sometimes hear from nearby residents who may experience vibration from the TBMs as they pass through the area.    Lire la suite »
