Excavation continues at the Chaplin Station. Crews are excavating at the Main Entrance, located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue between Chaplin Crescent and Gilgorm Road, and at the Tertiary Entrance, located on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, east of Chaplin Crescent.Lire la suite »
Tertiary Entrance Excavation Update at Chaplin Station
Information as of August 22, 2019
Excavation continues at the Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance site, located on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, east of Chaplin Crescent, beside the former Toronto Fire Hall. Excavators dig and remove soil from the work zone. Excavated material will be transferred into dump trucks and hauled to an off-site facility. Installation of tie-backs will take place from within the site as excavation progresses. Excavation will begin at 6:00 a.m. on weekdays.

Temporary Traffic Change for Wet Utility Work at Chaplin Station September 16 – 24, 2019
On September 16, a temporary change will be implemented on Eglinton Avenue, east of Chaplin Crescent to accommodate wet utility work for Chaplin Station. The northeast work zone will be extended further east and south of Latimer Avenue. Traffic on Eglinton Ave will be shifted south. No changes to pedestrian routes are anticipated. Once the work is complete, the work zone will return to the current configuration.

Pile Installation at Chaplin Station Secondary Entrance
In July and August 2019, crews will be installing micro piles at the Chaplin Station Secondary Entrance site, located on the southwest corner of Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton Avenue West. Piles will form the future supports of the station entrance structure below ground.

What Work is Taking Place?
Beginning the week of July 29, 2019, crews will commence excavation at the Chaplin Station Main Entrance site, located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, between Chaplin Crescent and Gilgorm Road. Excavators will dig and remove soil from the work zone. The excavated material will be transferred into dump trucks and hauled to an off-site facility.
