Geotechnical Monitoring Work at Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East
What Work is Taking Place?
On Wednesday, June 24, 2020 geotechnical investigation work will continue at Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East. Using a saw cutter and hydro-vacuum truck, crews will remove the sidewalk concrete and expose utilities, to access the monitoring points underground.
To facilitate this work, crews will be required to temporarily occupy the eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East, between Mann and Bayview Avenues, from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for approximately four (4) days. During this time, Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane only between Mann and Bayview Avenues, alternating traffic in each direction. Pedestrians will be rerouted around the work zone. Barriers will be used to delineate pedestrians from traffic and construction. Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present, while this work takes place. Crews will reopen the lane after each day of work and will endeavor to minimize disruption as much as possible.
Hours of Work
- Wednesday June 24 – Saturday June 27, 2020
- Work is expected to take place from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Work may be rescheduled or delayed due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

- Construction vehicles and trucks will stage within work zones and traffic tapers
- Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.
Traffic Details
- The eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East, between Mann and Bayview Avenues, will be temporarily occupied, while this work takes place.
- Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane only between Mann and Bayview Avenues, alternating traffic in each direction, while this work takes place.
