HOURS OF WORK
• The traffic change will be implemented July 14, 2020 for approximately one (1) month.
• Work may occur from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
• Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Crews will be performing road works in the centre of Eglinton Avenue, east of Brentcliffe Road
• Construction activities include:
o Concrete removal
o Excavation
o Extension of wet utilities
o Concrete works
o Backfill
o Compaction
o Paving
• Noise and vibration from construction equipment and vehicles can be expected.
• Site lighting may be required.
• In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
• Depending on the type of activity and the location of your property, certain construction works may be more noticeable than others. Noise and vibration levels are measured on a continuous basis to ensure all operations are completed within safe and allowable limits.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
• Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the south side of Eglinton Avenue East.
• Westbound traffic will be shifted to the north side of Eglinton Avenue East.
• A minimum of one lane in each direction will be maintained.
PEDESTRIAN AND TTC DETAILS
• The east crosswalk at the Brentcliffe Road and Eglinton Ave East intersection will remain closed.
• The pedestrian walkway on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East will remain available for the duration of these works.
• No changes to existing TTC stop locations.
Travelling Smart during Construction
Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
