What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Monday, January 24, 2022, a new traffic configuration will be implemented east of Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East to provide space for ongoing utility and road restoration works at Leaside Station. Traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Bayview Avenue and Bessborough Drive. This traffic configuration will remain in place for approximately two (2) weeks.
Once this stage is complete, traffic at the intersection will shift to the north side of Eglinton Avenue East, and construction will move to south side of the street.
What to Expect
Site trailers, equipment, and construction materials will be stored on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East, between Bayview Avenue and Bessborough Drive. Overnight noise can be expected, while the traffic changes are being implemented. Concrete barriers, fencing, and signage will be in place to delineate the work zones. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present, while the traffic changes are being implemented. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.
HOURS OF WORK
- As early as Monday, January 24, 2022 for approximately two (2) weeks.
- Overnight work may be required to implement the new traffic configuration.
- This configuration may be in place shorter or longer than expected.
- This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
- Traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Bayview Avenue and Bessborough Drive.
- Traffic at the Bayview-Eglinton intersection will remain the same.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- No changes to the current traffic configuration are expected as a result of this work

- Access to TTC will be maintained at all times.
