Upcoming Hydro Outages

UPDATED: Planned Hydro Outages in June 2019

In support of construction of the future Crosstown Light Rail Transit, crews have been upgrading and relocating existing overhead and underground hydro utilities between Birchmount Road and Kennedy Road along Eglinton Avenue East. Outages are required to switch services to the new infrastructure.

A temporary hydro shutoff is required at the addresses listed below. These hydro outages will be performed during the day and is expected to be for the duration of approximately sixteen (16) hours — if no unforeseen circumstances are encountered during the work.

Hours of Work

• Date: June 11, 12, 13 and 14 
  • Time: 6:00AM – 7:00PM
  • Duration: Approximately 16 hours
  • Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.

What to Expect

Temporary hydro outage will affect the following commercial properties along Eglinton Avenue East:

• 2296 Eglinton Ave E - June 11, 6:00AM – 7:00PM
• 2300 Eglinton Ave E - June 12, 6:00AM – 7:00PM
• 2360 Eglinton Ave E - June 13, 6:00AM – 7:00PM
• 2354 Eglinton Ave E - June 14, 6:00AM – 7:00PM

Please ensure the following:

• A qualified resident electrician or building maintenance staff is required to be on site to open and close the electrical switch before and after the outage.
• During an outage electric garage doors will not work, please arrange to move your vehicle beforehand.
• Turn off all appliances and computers prior to the outage.
• Charge your mobile devices in advance.
• Provide unobstructed and safe access to workers at all times by exercising caution around construction areas.
