Short Term Allen Road Lane Restrictions for Trucking Staging Lane and Construction Compound

mai 28, 2015

What: Installation of truck staging lanes and additional site facilities for Eglinton Crosstown project. This road work and installation of an additional lane is required for the re-launch of the tunnel boring machines at Eglinton Avenue West and Allen Road and the construction of tunnels from east of Allen Road to Yonge Street.

Where: Crews will be accessing the northbound and southbound centre median of the Allen Road Expressway to install site facilities and a truck staging lane for trucks to be used for tunnel activities. During the non-rush hour periods, a short lane restriction will be used to remove guardrail and build an additional lane for trucks.

On the northbound Allen Road ramp, an additional site will be opened on the west side adjacent to the Eglinton West subway station. During the non-rush hour periods, a short lane restriction will be used to remove guardrail only.

Once access to each of the sites is opened, various construction vehicles will enter and access the sites to perform the work with the assistance of traffic control personnel.

When: Starting as early as June 4, crews will be restricting the traffic on the ramps. Access and egress from both sites will continue for long-term construction.
