Update: Boreholes for Laird Station

What Work is Taking Place?

  • As part of the ongoing construction works for the future Laird Station, crews will drill a borehole on the north side of the secondary entrance and the east side of the main entrance. 
  • Location of the bore holes are on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, east of Laird Drive and on the west side of Laird Drive, south of Eglinton Avenue.


  • Work is expected to begin as early as late March 2017.
  • The boreholes and associated work will take approximately two weeks to complete. 
  • Work will occur between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Construction crews and equipment will be present along roadways and sidewalks along Eglinton Avenue East.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise related to drilling, saw-cutting, hydro-vaccing, and the use of heavy equipment.

Traffic Details

  • Short term lane closures on Eglinton Avenue and/or Laird Drive will be required. 
  • Work zones will be set up and removed every day. Metal plates will be used to cover open excavations in the roadway.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

Pedestrian Details

  • A portion of the sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East will be rerouted around the worksite with a minimum of 1.5m maintained at all time for pedestrians.
