Upcoming Work and Construction Staging: January 2018

Starting January 2, 2018, crews will mobilize new equipment, including a generator, pumps, and a micro tunnel boring machine (TBM), to the launch shaft site at Taunton Road. This equipment is required for storm sewer installation.

Starting January 8, 2018, the TBM will be in placed into the launch shaft, and micro-tunnelling and pipe installation will begin. Storm sewer installation will take place on a 24/7 basis for approximately three (3) weeks, including use of surface equipment .

Simultaneously, a new work zone will be erected on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East, east of Brownlow Avenue to make way for construction of the receiving shaft, where the TBM will be extracted. In advance of constructing the receiving shaft, crews will perform Bell utility relocation in the work zone. Temporary sidewalk closures may be in effect.

Access to Taunton Road at Eglinton Avenue East will be reinstated in March 2018, once storm sewer installation is complete.
