Alleyway (Ln N Eglinton W Keele) Closure at Keelesdale Station

What work is taking place?

 Crews will begin construction of the bus loop as part of the final design of Keelesdale Station as early as November 2018. Due to the location of the new bus loop, the alleyway north of Eglinton Avenue, west of Keele Street, known as ‘Ln N Eglinton W Keele’, will close in order to safely carry out the work. 

Hours of Work

  • Work is expected to begin as early as November 2018, and the alley will remain closed permanently.
  • Occasional overnight work may be required. Metrolinx will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout. 
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • The alleyway north of Eglinton Avenue, west of Keele Street, known as ‘Ln N Eglinton W Keele’, will close in order to safely carry out the work.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by a pile drill, crane, loaders, trucks and other construction equipment, as well as dust from drilling activity and debris removal.
  • Heavy truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone, and traveling through nearby streets can be expected.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • For safety purposes, fencing will be erected around the work zone.
  • All access to businesses is maintained throughout the work.

 

 

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m
