Overnight Work and Road Closure at Berwick Avenue for Facility Services Building Construction at Eglinton Station

What Work is Taking Place?

On December 9, 2018, crews will be working on Berwick Avenue to carry out supporting activities for construction of the Facility Services Building for the TTC Line 1 Subway system.



  • Work will occur on December 9 from approximately 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Work may be re-scheduled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.


What to Expect

  • Berwick Avenue will close between Duplex Avenue and Yonge Street for the duration of the work.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect some noise in the area caused by construction equipment, truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone, and equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • All access to business entrances will be maintained throughout construction.
  • Access to Oxford Loading Dock and TTC Bus Bay will be maintained at all times.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained along the north side of Berwick Avenue from Duplex Avenue to Yonge Street. At times, pedestrians may be asked to halt or divert around the crane movements.



Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
