What Work is Taking Place?

On Thursday April 4, crews will perform a large concrete pour at the southwest Station Box of Fairbank Station. The concrete will form the part of the roof of the future station.  Concrete pumps will be placed in the work zone, and concrete trucks will queue in the southbound lane of Dufferin Street between Eglinton Avenue West and Hunter Street as well as the west curb lane of Dynevor Road between Eglinton Avenue West and the laneway.  Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while work takes place.  Please review the traffic details as significant pedestrian changes will be in effect

To ensure the continuity of the pour, the pour will be conducted overnight when traffic is lighter.  Crews will endeavour to minimize disruption as best as possible while this work takes place. 

Hours of Work 

  • Thursday April 4, 2019 beginning at 7:00 p.m. for approximately 12 hours
  • In the event of inclement weather, this work will be rescheduled

What to Expect

  • Overnight noise and lighting from construction activity can be expected

Traffic Details

  • The pedestrian route around the southwest work zone will be closed during this activity
  • Access to properties on the south side of Eglinton Ave between Dynevor Rd and Dufferin St will be maintained
  • The south crosswalk will be relocated approximately 30 meters south for this activity
  • A temporary north-south crosswalk will be in place at Dynevor Rd for this activity
  • Paid Duty Officers and traffic control personnel will assist with vehicle and pedestrian traffic
