What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Sunday June 2nd, crews will be reducing Eglinton Ave W from Northcliffe Blvd to Dufferin St to one lane from 8pm – 5am. This work will last approximately one week. The north lane will be closed as early as Sunday June 2nd for two nights, followed by the south lane for three nights. Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while this work takes place. 

To minimize disruption as best as possible, this work will be completed overnight when traffic is lighter. Road plates will be installed to allow traffic to return to two lanes during daytime hours.

Hours of Work
  • As early as Sunday June 2, 2019 for approximately 5 days.
  • Eglinton Ave W will be reduced to one shared lane only from 8:00pm to 5:00am. Two-way traffic facilitated by traffic control personnel and Paid Duty Officers. 
  • In the event of inclement weather, this work will be rescheduled.

What to Expect
  • Crews will be doing shallow excavation and pipe installation, first on the north lane of Eglinton Ave W, followed by the south lane of Eglinton Ave W. 
  • There will be two flagpersons directing traffic through the area for the duration of the work. 
  • Overnight noise and lighting from construction activity can be expected.
Traffic Details
  • Access to properties at the intersection will be maintained.
  • At Dufferin and Eglinton, The north, south, and west crosswalks at the intersection will remain open. The east crosswalk will remain closed. 
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
