What Work is Taking Place?

In spring 2020, crews will begin installation of beams, structural steel and panels at the Forest Hill Station Secondary Entrance, located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, west of Bathurst Street.  To accommodate this next phase of construction, pedestrians must be routed north of the Secondary Entrance to the Hilltop-Bathurst laneway.  This configuration is expected to remain in place for approximately six (6) months.  Property access will be maintained.

Hours of Work 

 

  • As early as March 2020 for approximately six (6) months
  • The pedestrian configuration may remain in place longer or shorter than expected
  • Construction takes place between 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m., Monday – Saturday

What to Expect

  • Property access, including access to store fronts, will be maintained at all times

Pedestrian Details

  • The existing pedestrian walkway around the Secondary Entrance will be closed
  • Pedestrians will be rerouted to the Hilltop-Bathurst Laneway
  • The sidewalk on Eglinton Ave will remain open on either side of the Secondary Entrance site

Traffic Details

  • The laneway will remain closed to vehicular traffic behind the Secondary Entrance site; no through vehicle traffic

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
