What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday, March 23, crews at Fairbank will be installing overhead power cabling and poles along Eglinton Avenue West. To complete this work, the eastbound lane on Eglinton Ave W, west of Dufferin St, will be closed. One lane on Eglinton Avenue W will remain open, and two-way traffic will be controlled by traffic control personnel and Paid Duty Officers. The lanes will be reduced from as early as 10:00am – 2:00pm.

  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

Traffic Details

  • Access to properties at the intersection will be maintained.
  • The north, south, and west crosswalks at the intersection will remain open. The east crosswalk will remain closed.
  • The eastbound lane on Eglinton Ave W will be temporarily closed.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.

 

Travelling Smart During Construction

Travel delays are expected with Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
