Short-term lane reductions at Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East - Late April 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

From late April to late May 2020, short-term lane reductions will take place on Eglinton Avenue East at Mount Pleasant Road to facilitate soil backfill and utility restoration work. Lane reductions will take place intermittently between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. for a maximum duration of one (1) hour. During this time, Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one shared lane only, as trucks backfill soil into the work zone. 

Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place. Crews will endeavour to minimize disruption as much as possible.

 

Hours of Work

Late April to late May 2020.

Between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. for a maximum duration of one (1) hour.

Lane reductions are not expected to be performed daily, only when required.

The reductions may be in place shorter or longer than expected.

This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

What to Expect

Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.

Noise from construction can be expected.

Backfill of soil into the work zone on the northside of Eglinton Avenue East. 

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Changes

All pedestrian routes are expected to remain the same.

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
