Update: Extended Construction Hours at Mount Pleasant Station - Phase Three: Concrete Works

juin 12, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

Starting in mid-June 2020, crews will begin concrete works, the third phase of extended construction at Mount Pleasant Station. Concrete pours will take place at the station entrances and beneath Eglinton Avenue to form the final station structure underground. Structural steel framing, rebar, and formwork will be installed to reinforce the station’s concrete walls and slabs. Concrete pours are expected to take place on a weekly basis and each pour will take approximately 12 - 18 hours to complete. To ensure the integrity and continuity of the pour, work will begin as early as 5:00 a.m. A separate notice will be distributed in advance of each pour.

Construction will take place on a 24-hour basis. Concrete works will continue through to early-2021. On-site mitigation measures will be in place to minimize disruption caused by this work. Deep excavation, tunnel demolition, and chipping will continue during this phase of construction, through to mid-Summer 2020. Crews will endeavour to perform noisier work, such as chipping and drilling, between 6:00 a.m. and midnight. Please carefully review ‘What to Expect’ for more information.
