Notice of Overnight Utility Work: Mount Pleasant Station - Monday, June 8, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

On Monday, June 8, 2020, crews at Mount Pleasant Station will perform overnight utility work on Eglinton Avenue East between Mount Pleasant and Taunton Roads. To perform this work safely, the eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East will be temporarily closed between Mount Pleasant and Taunton Roads. Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane only, alternating traffic in each direction, while this work takes place. Crews will reopen the lane as soon as it is safe to do so. 

 

Work is expected to begin at 8:00 p.m. and take will take approximately seven (7) hours to complete. During this time, residents can expect noise from construction equipment, including concrete and hydro-vacuum trucks. Crews will endeavour to minimize disruption as much as possible. Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty office will be present while this work takes place.

This work may take longer or short than expected.

Pedestrian and Traffic Changes

The eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East will be temporarily closed between Mount Pleasant and Taunton Roads, while this work takes place.

Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane, alternating traffic in each direction, while this work takes place.

All pedestrian routes are expected to remain the same, while this work takes place.

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
