Update: Laneway Closure at Keelesdale Station extended to Friday, July 31, 2020

What Work Is Taking Place?

Installation of a new storm line is well underway behind the TPSS building of the future Keelesdale station. The parking lot south of Eglinton Avenue West, west of Yarrow Road has reopened. The laneway, east of Yarrow Road will remain closed until as early as Friday, July 31. The laneway will remain closed to all vehicular traffic, including resident vehicles, while this work takes place. Pedestrian access to properties via Eglinton Avenue West will be maintained. Crews will excavate approximately five meters in the laneway. Work includes the use of an excavator and jackhammer, which will cause noise.  

Alternative parking arrangements will continue to be provided to affected properties.  Arrangements will be coordinated by the contractor, Crosslinx Transit Solutions – Constructors.  If you have not been contacted by a member of the Crosslinx team, please contact the West Crosstown Community office at crosstown@metrolinx.com or 416-782-8118 for information.

Hours of Work 

  • Work at the east laneway began on Monday, July 20 and will continue until as early as Friday July 31.
  • Utility installation will take place between 6:00am and 11:00pm.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

What to Expect

  • Crews will be working and staging behind the TPSS building at Yarrow Road, and within the laneway. Crews will excavate approximately five meters in the laneway to install a new storm line.
  • Vehicular access the laneway, east of Yarrow Road, will be restricted.
  • Concrete barriers, fencing and other material will be erected to secure the work zone.
  • Noise from construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, a jackhammer, and trucks can be expected.
  • Site lighting may be required.
  • Equipment and material storage in and around work zones.

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • The laneway will be closed to vehicular traffic.
  • Yarrow Road will remain closed to vehicular traffic at Eglinton Ave W.
  • Intermittent sidewalk interruptions may occur throughout the duration of this work.
  • No impacts to TTC bus service.

Travelling Smart During Construction

Travel delays are expected with Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
