Pile Installation for Secondary Entrance Construction at Chaplin Station - August 31, 2020
What Work is Taking Place?
On August 31, 2020, crews will begin the next phase of construction building the Chaplin Station Secondary Entrance. The Secondary Entrance is located on the southwest corner of Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton Avenue West. Construction of the entrance will take place over several months, beginning with pile installation. Using a drill and crane, large steel beams will be placed in the ground along the perimeter of the secondary station entrance, followed by concrete, to support excavation.
What to Expect
Noise from construction activity, including use of a crane, drill, excavator, hydro-vacuum truck, as well as frequent dump and concrete truck activity can be expected.
HOURS OF WORK
- Beginning Monday August 31, 2020 for approximately four (4) weeks
- 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances
TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- The current traffic and pedestrian configuration is expected to remain in place for the duration of this work
