Lane Reduction for Escalator Delivery at Caledonia Station - September 9, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

On Wednesday September 9, the final large escalators will be delivered to Caledonia station. During this activity, westbound Eglinton Ave W will be reduced to one (1) lane only between Blackthorne Ave and Gabian Way. Lane reductions will begin as early as 6:00am and last for approximately 12 hours.

 

What to Expect

One westbound lane on Eglinton Ave will be occupied between Blackthorne Ave and Gabian Way while the delivery takes place. Trucks will be entering and exiting the workzone. Motorists can expect delays when travelling through the intersection.

 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • One westbound lane on Eglinton Ave will be occupied between Blackthorne Ave and Gabian Way.
  • No impacts to TTC bus service.

 

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • Periodic sidewalk interruptions – pedestrians will be rerouted to temporary sidewalk.
  • All crosswalks will be maintained.
  • All TTC bus stops will remain in their current locations.

 

HOURS OF WORK

  • Wednesday September 9, 2020
  • Lane reductions will begin at approximately 6:00am and last for approximately 12 hours.
  • The contractor may not always work during permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

  • Noise from construction equipment such as a vac-truck and construction vehicles.
