Sidewalk Construction at Eglinton Ave E and Warden Ave - November 16

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be constructing final sidewalks at the four corners of the Eglinton Ave E and Warden Ave intersection. Work on the west side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 16, 2020 for a period of one week. Work on the east side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 24, 2020 for a period of one week. 

What to Expect

A change to the traffic configuration will be implemented. Activities will include concrete removals, excavation, backfill and concrete works to form the new sidewalks.  

HOURS OF WORK

  • Stage 1 work on the west side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 16, 2020 for a period of one week.
  • Stage 2 work on the east side of the intersection is expected to begin as early as November 24, 2020 for a period of one week.
  • Work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Closure of one eastbound lane and one westbound lane, west of the intersection in Stage 1.

• Closure of westbound lane and one eastbound lane, east of the intersection in Stage 2.

• Closure of one northbound lane at the intersection for construction activities in Stage 2.

• Closure of one southbound lane at the intersection for construction activities in Stage1. 

PEDESTRIAN & TTC DETAILS

  • There will be no impacts to existing pedestrian routes.
  • The west crosswalk will remain closed for the duration of these works.
  • There will be no impacts to current TTC stop locations.

OTHER IMPACTS

  • Noise from construction equipment and crews can be expected.
