What Work is Taking Place?
Crews at Fairbank station will be conducting water valve installation activities on Dufferin Street. The installation will take place on Thursday December 3 overnight. In order to perform this activity, water will be shut off for properties along Dufferin St and Eglinton Ave W between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Crews will turn water back on as soon as it is safe to do so. During this time, there will be no water available from the taps or toilets. Residents are encouraged to store water for domestic use, ahead of the scheduled water shut off.
What to Expect
Minimal overnight noise from construction activity can be expected. Site lighting is required and will be positioned away from residential properties. Crews will endeavor to minimize disruption as much as possible while this work takes place. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection. Water is expected to be will be shut off to the following properties:
- 1828 Eglinton Avenue West
- 1840 Eglinton Avenue West
- 2401 Dufferin Street
- 2418 – 2380 Dufferin Street
HOURS OF WORK
- Water will be shut off overnight on Thursday December 3 from approximately 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
- Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
- The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion
- This work may take longer or shorter than expected
TRAFFIC DETAILS
- No changes to the existing traffic configuration are associated with this work
TRANSIT INFORMATION
- There will be no impacts to TTC bus services
