What Work is Taking Place?

Crews at Caledonia will be installing wet utilities beginning as early as Monday December 7 for approximately four days. On Monday, crews will be occupying two lanes on the south side of Eglinton Ave W, west of Blackthorn Ave. From Tuesday December 8 until Thursday December 10, crews will move to the north side and occupy two lanes to complete the installation. One lane will be open in each direction will remain open around the workzone. Lane closures will begin as early as 7:00am on December 7 and last until approximately 5:30pm on Thursday December 10. Lanes will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.

 

What to Expect

Two lanes on Eglinton Ave will be occupied west of Blackthorne Ave, starting on the south side of Eglinton, then moving to the north side. Motorists can expect delays when travelling through the intersection.

 

HOURS OF WORK

  • Lane reductions will remain in place from as early as December 7 until as early as December 10.
  • Work will begin at approximately 7:00am and last until approximately 5:30pm.
  • The contractor may not always work during permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • On Monday December 7, crews will be occupying two lanes on the south side of Eglinton, west of Blackthorn Ave.
  • From Tuesday December 8 – Thursday December 10, crews will be occupying two lanes on the north side of Eglinton, west of Blackthorn Ave.
  • One lane in each direction will remain open for the duration of the wet utilities installation.
  • No impacts to TTC bus service.

 

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • Periodic sidewalk interruptions – pedestrians will be rerouted to temporary sidewalk.
  • All crosswalks will be maintained.
  • All TTC bus stops will remain in their current locations.
