Overnight OCS Cable Installations – East Guideway
What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will be installing OCS (Overhead Catenary System) cables on the At-Grade East Guideway on Eglinton Avenue East. Overhead catenary is the system installed overtop of the rails of a light rail system, to provide operational power to the LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles). Installation will take place on from Monday, February 7 to Thursday, February 10, 2022, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. Crews will operate above the track. No significant traffic impacts are expected, while this work takes place.
What to Expect
Cables will be installed overhead using a high rail vehicle. Minimal noise is expected while this work takes place. Site lighting will be required.
HOURS OF WORK
- Monday, February 7 to Thursday, February 10, 2022.
- Work is expected to take place between 7:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.
- This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- No changes to the current traffic configurations or pedestrian routes are expected, as a result of this work.
- Short-term lane interruptions may be required as vehicles enter and exit the work zones.
- Traffic control personnel will be present, while this work takes place.
