What Work is Taking Place?

As early as 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, and continuing nightly through Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 6:00 a.m., crews will perform road restoration works on Eglinton Avenue East between Leslie Street and Don Mills Road. Work will take place nightly from 8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. To accommodate this work, traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be redirected with a crossover at Glassworks Drive and the median opening, west of Don Mills Road. The work area will remain opened to local traffic only. Outside of these hours, road operations will continue normally. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on Eglinton Avenue East.

What to Expect

Driveways between Glassworks Drive and the median opening, west of Don Mills Road will have restricted access for approximately two (2) hours for the duration of the work in the immediate area. Properties affected by this restriction will be contacted directly. Traffic lanes affected by the work will be open to local traffic only. Noise from construction activity including trucks, asphalt removals, paving, and compacting can be expected. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present, while this work takes place.

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Monday, July 18, 2022, and continuing nightly through Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
  • Nightly from 8:00 pm – 6:00 am.
  • This work may be rescheduled of delayed due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Work may be longer of shorter than expected.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

Evening of July 18:

  • Restoration of eastbound lanes: Traffic lanes on Eglinton Avenue East, south of the guideway, will be closed between Glassworks Drive and the median opening, west of Don Mills Road.
  • Eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be redirected north, with a crossover at Glassworks Drive and the median opening, west of Don Mills Road.
  • The contingency date for this work is the evening of Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Evening of June 19:  

  • Restoration of westbound lanes: Traffic lanes on Eglinton Avenue East, north of the guideway, will be closed between Glassworks Drive and the median opening, west of Don Mills Road.
  • Westbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be redirected south, with a crossover at Glassworks Drive and the median opening, west of Don Mills Road.
  • A road closure will be in effect on Leslie Street, north of Eglinton Avenue East.
  • The contingency date for this work is the evening of Thursday, July 21, 2022.

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • Pedestrian crosswalks that cross the work zone will be closed for the duration of the work.
