Temporary Sidewalk Closures on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Jonesville Crescent

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday, November 14, 2022, crews will be performing handrail installations along Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street and between Sloane Avenue and Jonesville Crescent. To facilitate this work safely, the north sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street will be temporarily closed, and pedestrians will be directed to use the south sidewalk.

The south sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East between Sloane Avenue and Jonesville Crescent will be temporarily closed, and pedestrians will be directed to use the north sidewalk. This work is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for approximately one (1) week. Upon completion of the work the sidewalks will reopen.

  • November 14th and 15th, 2022: Work will take place on the north sidewalk of Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street.
  • November 16th and 17th, 2022: Work will take place on the south sidewalk of Eglinton Avenue East between Sloane Avenue and Jonesville Crescent.

What to Expect

Expect delays while travelling through the area. Noise from construction activities can be expected. Traffic barrels, fencing, and signage will be in place to delineate work zones. Access to businesses, properties, and TTC will be maintained. The sidewalk will reopen upon completion of the work.

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Monday, November 14, 2022, for approximately one (1) week.
  • This work is expected between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Work may take longer or shorter than expected.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • No changes to the current traffic configuration as a result of this work. 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • The north sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East between Brentcliffe Road and Leslie Street will be temporarily closed, and pedestrians will be directed to use the south sidewalk.
  • The south sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East between Sloane Avenue and Jonesville Crescent will be temporarily closed, and pedestrians will be directed to use the north sidewalk.
