Update: Demolition Works at Chaplin Station’s Third Entrance - November 30, 2022

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Wednesday, November 30, 2022, crews will demolish the tower crane foundation at Chaplin Station’s Third Entrance. Chipping is required to complete this work. Chipping is the process of using an excavator and jackhammer to remove concrete and hardened material. This work will take place between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for approximately three (3) days. Noise and vibration can be expected. Vehicle access through the Chaplin-Russel Hill laneway will be restricted during this work for safety purposes. Access to properties will be maintained.

What to Expect

Noise and vibration from construction activity, including chipping of concrete, can be expected. No vehicle access via the Chaplin-Russel Hill laneway. The laneway will reopen after each day of work.

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Wednesday, November 30, 2022, between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., for approximately three (3) days   
  • This work may be rescheduled or delayed due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Vehicle access through the Chaplin-Russel Hill laneway will be restricted during this work

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • No changes to the current pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work 
  • Temporary pedestrian rerouting through the laneway may be in effect  

TRANSIT INFORMATION

  • Access to TTC will be maintained at all times
