Sidewalk Restoration Work at Avenue Station - As early as December 7, 2022

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Wednesday, December 7, 2022, crews at Avenue Station will begin sidewalk restoration work on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, between Avenue Road and Oriole Parkway. To facilitate this work, pedestrians will be rerouted south around the area where the new sidewalk is being built. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. This work is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for approximately three (3) weeks.   

What to Expect

Temporary pedestrian rerouting will be in effect. Noise from construction equipment including jackhammers, concrete trucks, and hammers can be expected. Fencing, barriers, and filter cloth will be in place to delineate work zones. Advance signage will be installed to direct pedestrians around the closure. The existing sidewalk will be removed, and a new sidewalk will be constructed. Once this work is completed, the sidewalk will reopen.  

HOURS OF WORK

  • Starting as early as Wednesday, December 7, 2022, for approximately three (3) weeks
  • Construction activities are expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • No changes to the current traffic configuration are expected as a result of this work

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • Pedestrians will be rerouted south around the work zone
