What Work is Taking Place? 

As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be conducting grading work on Eglinton Avenue East at 1911 & 1921 Eglinton Avenue East. Starting as early as July 19, 2019 and lasting for approximately two (2) months.

There will be a sidewalk closure on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East in front of Dolphin Gaming in order to safely carry out the work.

Hours of Work 

  • Starting as early as Friday, July 19, 2019 and lasting for approximately two (2) months.
  • This work is permitted between the hours of 7 am and 11pm Monday through Sunday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect 

  • The south sidewalk between Lebovic Avenue and the west plaza driveway will be closed during the duration of this work.
  • The north sidewalk will remain open during the duration of this work.
  • Delays can be expected when accessing properties surrounding the work zone.
  • Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from saw cutters, hydro-vacuum trucks and construction vehicles during this work.
  • Expect delays when traveling near work zones.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts 

  • The south sidewalk between Lebovic Avenue and the west plaza driveway will be closed during the duration of this work.
  • Signage will be in place to direct pedestrians to alternate routes.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.

TTC Impacts 

  • TTC bus stops in the affected area may be relocated for the safety of transit riders.
  • In the event of relocation, please watch for posted signs indicating the adjusted locations.
  • Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses respectively, is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
