What is the Crosstown?

The Eglinton Crosstown is a 19-kilometre light rail transit (LRT) line that will run along Eglinton Avenue through the heart of Toronto, with an underground central section. The line will connect Mount Dennis in the west to Kennedy Road in the east, and the new service will be up to 60% faster than the bus service today.

Bathurst Station Headwall Construction for Twin Tunnels

What we are building

What: Crews will be building headwalls for the future Bathurst Station. Headwalls are underground support walls located at the east and west ends of the underground station. Following the site preparation, crews will be installing these underground station headwalls in advance of the twin tunnel construction.

What: A cross passage is a smaller tunnel placed between two other parallel tunnels for maintenance or emergency purposes. Crews will be building one headwall for the cross-passage required for future maintenance of the tunnels. Headwalls are underground support walls. Read more »

Long-term Closure of Peveril Hill North at Eglinton Avenue West

What we are building

What:  Construction of the headwalls for the future Bathurst station requires a small grout plant to be established nearby to pump a form of concrete, otherwise known as “grout”, to the station headwall location. In order to minimize road occupancy on Eglinton Avenue West this grout plant will be located within a section on Peveril Hill North, south of Eglinton.
