What Work is Taking Place

Since August 2016, crews have been relocating of existing telecommunication (Bell) and hydro lines in the vicinity of Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton Avenue West.  Beginning in May, the existing work zone on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West will be extended further west to Spadina Road.

Access to the Kay Gardner Belt Line Trail from Eglinton Avenue West will be temporarily closed and the staircase removed while this work takes place. Access will remain closed while crews setup the Secondary Entrance site later this year. The approximately duration of the closure is eight (8) months. As the trail is not maintained during the winter, the path will reopen in Spring 2018.

Timing
  • Beginning as early as May 1, 2017.
  • This work will be conducted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Some weekend work may be required.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
