What Work is Taking Place?

Since last year, crews have been completing storm sewer installation on Eglinton Avenue East at Taunton Road and Brownlow Avenue.  Installation of the sewer pipe is complete, now crews must connect the new infrastructure to new and existing manholes.

To connect the west side of the sewer, crews must trench from the existing work zone, west to Brownlow Avenue.  To facilitate this work, a closure of Brownlow Avenue at Eglinton Avenue East is required. Pedestrians will be rerouted around the work zone.

This work is taking place in adjacent Eglinton Junior Public School.  However, to minimize the impact to school operations, this work is being carried-out over two (2) weekend closures beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Fridays until 5:00 a.m. on Mondays.  Overnight work may be required to minimize the number of closures.  This first closure has been completed.

Hours of Work

  • Friday June 22nd at 4:00 p.m. – Monday June 25th at 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight work between 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. may be required
