Wet Utility Connection Works at Oakwood Station: Phase One July 19, 2021

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday August 9, 2021, crews will begin permanent wet utility connection works at the Secondary Entrance of Oakwood Station. This phase of work is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for approximately 15 days.

To facilitate this work safely, Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Oakwood Avenue and Times Road. The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West, between Glenholme and Oakwood Avenues, will be partially closed during this work (refer to map above). Access to properties and businesses will be maintained. For more information, please review the complete notice below. 

What to Expect

Noise from construction equipment, including hydro-vacuum trucks and excavators, can be expected. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection. No utility interruptions are expected while this work takes place.

HOURS OF WORK

  • As early as Monday August 9, 2021 for approximately 15 days, between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances
  • Wet utility works will continue to take place throughout Oakwood Station until approximately September 2021

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Oakwood Avenue and Times Road
  • The lane will reopen after each day of work

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West, between Glenholme and Oakwood Avenues, will be partially closed during this work; pedestrians will be diverted to the north sidewalk
  • Access to properties and businesses on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West will be maintained
  • The north-south crosswalk on Eglinton Avenue, on the west side of the Oakwood Avenue intersection, will remain open
  • The sidewalk will reopen after each day of work
