What Work is Taking Place?

On Thursday May 28, 2020, crews will perform a concrete pour at the main entrance station box of Fairbank Station. Work will begin as early as 5:00am and the pour will be ongoing for approximately 12 hours. The concrete will form the fourth invert slab of future station’s track floor. Concrete pumps will be placed at Vaughan Road and within the Main Entrance work zone. Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while work takes place.

  • Thursday May 28, 2020
  • The concrete pour will begin as early as 5:00 a.m. and last for approximately 12 hours
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected

What to Expect

  • Vaughan Rd will be closed at the top of the street (at Fairbank Station Main Entrance)
  • Noise from concrete trucks can be expected
  • Local and pedestrian access will be maintained
  • Property access will be maintained
  • Expect delays while travelling near work zones

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • Approximately three parking spaces at the end of Vaughan Road will be temporarily displaced
  • Access to properties along Vaughan Rd, Eglinton Ave W and Dufferin St will be maintained
  • The pedestrian routes at the intersection will remain the same

Transit Information

  • No impacts to TTC bus service

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
