UPDATE ON STORM SEWER INSTALLATION WORK AT MOUNT PLEASANT STATION

What Work is Taking Place?

Since late 2017, crews have been completing storm sewer installation on Eglinton Avenue East between Taunton Road and Brownlow Avenue.  Phases 1 and 2 of this activity are now complete.

Next the new storm sewer will be connected to the existing infrastructure in the area. New manholes will be installed.  Connection work will be completed within regular construction hours, 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday, and will take approximately nine (9) weeks to complete. 

New equipment and a new crew will begin arriving to the site in preparation for the manhole installation and connection work.  This work is the vicinity of Eglinton Junior P.S. as well as the Taunton Road site.  Some of the equipment and materials required for the first phase of work have been removed and new equipment will arrive on site including a site trailer, excavators and other equipment.

Changes to Brownlow Avenue will be required. Specific details are being confirmed and will be communicated separately.

Hours of Work

  • Beginning Wednesday May 9, 2018 for approximately nine (9) weeks
  • Permitted hours are 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday

What to Expect

  • An excavator and surface equipment will be mobilized to the Taunton Road and Brownlow Avenue sites
  • A trailer will be mobilized to the Taunton Road site
  • Noise from construction activity can be expected
  • Changes to Brownlow Avenue will be required. Specific details are being confirmed and will be communicated separately.
