What Work is Taking Place?

Starting Monday, January 6, 2020, additional boreholes will be drilled on Eglinton Avenue, west of the Main Entrance site, connecting to the tunnel underground.  The connection holes are required to facilitate final lining activities and to deliver concrete into the cavern. Boreholes will also be drilled in Eglinton Park.

Change to Work Zone

The existing work zone on Eglinton Avenue will be expanded approximately 30 metres west of the Main Entrance while the bore holes are drilled. Drilling of the boreholes will take approximately four (4) days to complete. Once the boreholes are drilled, a portion of the work zone, approximately 15 metres, will remain permanently to make way for continued final lining and concrete works in the cavern.  The work zone will be periodically expanded during concrete pours.

Hours of Work

  • Borehole installation west of the Main Entrance will begin January 6 for approximately four (4) days
  • Borehole installation at Eglinton Park will begin January 10 for approximately five (5) days
  • Work will take place from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
