Rosemount Drive & Ionview Road
What Work is Taking Place?
As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be completing installation of street light infrastructure at Rosemount Drive and Eglinton Avenue, at Ionview Road and Eglinton Avenue and on Eglinton Avenue between Rosemount Drive and Ionview. This work will take place starting as soon as June 3rd and take approximately two (2) weeks.
Work will be performed in stages to minimize disruption as crews will be trenching along the roadways. Temporary traffic lane reductions and turn restrictions will be in place as work occurs and work zones will change on a daily basis. Traffic control personnel and/or Paid Duty Officer will be present to support traffic and pedestrian movements in the area.
Hours of Work
- Work is expected to start as early as Monday, June 3rd and last for approximately two (2) weeks
- Time: Work will be performed between the hours of 7 am and 7pm
- Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.
What to Expect
- Cutting and removal of existing asphalt, trenching, installation of street light infrastructure.
- Eglinton Avenue East remains open in both directions at all times.
- Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from excavators, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment caused by utilities relocation activity.
- Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone.
- As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
- A minimum of one lanes of eastbound and westbound traffic will be maintained during this work.
- Lane reductions and turn restrictions will be in place during working hours.
- Emergency services access will be maintained.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
