What Work is Taking Place?

On Saturday March 20, 2021 crews at Avenue Station will work overnight to facilitate structural works at the secondary entrance site. This work includes steel, rebar, and formwork installations.

Traffic Configuration Change at Laird Station

Traffic Configuration

 

As early as Monday March 22, 2021, a temporary traffic configuration change will be implemented at Laird Drive and Eglinton Avenue to accommodate material hoisting, escalator delivery and crane disassembly.  Laird Dr south of Eglinton Ave will be reduced to one northbound shared through-right turn lane, one northbound left turn lane and one southbound lane.  The configuration will be in place for approximately one (1) month.

Concrete Pour at Fairbank Station - March 19, 2021

 

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews at Fairbank Station continue to perform large concrete pours. Crews will be pouring on Friday March 19, beginning as early as 7:00 a.m. Concrete pumps will be placed within the Main Entrance work zone. Concrete trucks will be staged on Dufferin Street, south of Eglinton Avenue West. Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while this work takes place.

Temporary Lane Closure on Ferrand Drive at Don Mills Rd and Eglinton Ave E

Traffic Configuration

 

As early as Monday, March 22, crews will be removing the retaining wall between Ferrand Dr and Eglinton Ave E. In order to safely perform these activities, Ferrand Dr will be temporarily converted into a one-way street. Pedestrians will be temporarily rerouted around the new work zone. There will be no changes to the crosswalks. This staging will remain in place for approximately three weeks.

Overnight Work at Mt Pleasant Station’s Secondary Entrance - March 16, 2021

 

Traffic Configuration

 

On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, crews at Mount Pleasant Station will work overnight to remove soil from the Secondary Entrance site. This work will take place between 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. for one (1) night. 

 

Use of a crane and excavator will be required to complete this work. To minimize disruption, hauling activities will be reserved for the next day of work.

Update: Extended Construction Hours at Eglinton Station - Spring 2021

 

Traffic Configuration

Excavation works beneath TTC’s Eglinton Station Box are complete. Through Spring 2021, crews at Eglinton Station will continue to work extended construction hours to perform final grading and structural works below ground. This work includes backfilling, compacting soil, and installing structural steel, rebar and formwork to reinforce the station’s concrete walls and slabs.

Crane Installation at the Salvation Army Site (Cowbell Lane) for Eglinton Station Construction

As early as Monday, March 22, 2021 crews at Eglinton Station will install a crane within the Salvation Army site at the corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Cowbell Lane. The crane will be used to facilitate construction of the Eglinton Station Box and East Tunnel Ventilation Shaft.  Construction activities include rebar, steel, and formwork installations.
