Clearing, Grubbing, and Pruning between Don Avon Drive to Victoria Park Avenue in Preparation for Construction of Surface Stops

As our constructors get ready to ramp up construction activity at the surface section of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project, clearing, grubbing, and pruning and protection activity continues as part of preparatory work. This activity commenced two years ago and is done on an ongoing, as-needed basis to support the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project (ECLRT). Hydro Utility Relocation Relocations (Brentcliffe to Leslie)

What Work is Taking Place?

To prepare for the construction of the surface section and future road widening, beginning as early as late-March 2018, crews will relocate and upgrade existing overhead hydro utilities between Brentcliffe Rd and Leslie Street. Existing overhead and underground infrastructure will be relocated for construction and staging purposes.

Outages will be required to switch services to the new infrastructure. Outage requirements and impacts will be communicated separately only to those directly impacted.  Read more »

On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, crews will implement a new traffic stage at Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street for work related to support of excavation and utilities relocations, including shallow excavation at the Main Entrance, pile installation and Bell relocation in the roadway. Upcoming Traffic Change and Shoring Update at Chaplin Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Chaplin Station construction continues with a variety of ongoing construction activities. Traffic changes are required in order to continue to upgrade existing/install new utilities, continue shoring activities on the north side of Eglinton, and begin shallow excavation on the north side of Eglinton.

The new construction staging and associated traffic changes will be implemented as early as late March 2018. Read more »

Traffic Change at Mount Pleasant Station

What Work is Taking Place?

On Friday March 23, a new construction stage will be implemented at Mt. Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East, to make way for hydro and telecommunication utilities relocation work on the south side of Eglinton Ave between Brownlow Ave and Mt. Pleasant Rd.  Once the utility work is complete, launch shaft construction will commence in the same area as part of the ongoing storm sewer installation work.  Pedestrian will be rerouted around the southwest work zone during this stage. Scheduled Toronto Hydro Outage at 32 and 38 Berwick Avenue

What Work is Taking Place?

In order to prepare for construction of the new TTC emergency services building, crews will be installing new hydro infrastructure along Berwick Avenue between Duplex Avenue and Yonge Street. In order to complete the next phase of this work, crews will be installing new transformers at the corner of Duplex Avenue and Berwick Avenue. We are working steadily in the east on the Eglinton Crosstown. In early April, there will be drilling in the middle of the roadway (Eglinton Avenue East), as crews begin the support of excavation work (shoring) to construct a tunnel to the new Kennedy Station. Read more »

In order to prepare for construction of Eglinton Station, crews have relocated water mains and sewers at the Yonge-Eglinton intersection to allow for piling and excavation works. In order maintain water service for all properties adjacent piling and excavation activities, crews will be connecting a new temporary water main with existing building site service connections.
