Tunnel Connection Boreholes and Concrete Backfilling for the Main Entrance at Avenue Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

To prepare for upcoming mining works at Avenue Station, crews need to fill portions of the completed tunnels with concrete. There are two separate phases to this work. Work will begin as soon as January 22, 2018.

Temporary Driveway Alignment Change at 564 Eglinton Avenue West for Chaplin Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Beginning January 22, crews will be performing pile installation beside the driveway of 564 Eglinton Avenue West.  To make space for the crane pad, the alignment of the driveway on Eglinton Ave W will be shifted to the west for a period of one week.  Drivers may experience delays when entering and existing the driveway.  A flag person will be on site to assist with entry and egress.

Overnight Sewer Replacement at Oakwood Station

Crews will replace a sewer line at the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Eglinton Avenue. A portion of the work will take place within the existing construction site. The work outside of the existing construction zone will be completed overnight to minimize disruption to traffic, pedestrians and TTC services. Work will be completed in three (3) stages to further minimize disruption. Read more »

What Work is Taking Place?

On Monday January 15 and Tuesday January 16, 2018, crews will be moving equipment at the Caledonia Station site.  To facilitate this equipment move, temporary closure of the westbound curb side lane as well as the north sidewalk at Eglinton Avenue West and Blackthron Avenue is required. Overnight Monitoring Installations Around the TTC Eglinton West Station Bus Loop

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Geotechnical monitoring instruments are installed in the vicinity of the station construction to monitor the ground conditions as construction is underway. 

Monitoring instruments are regularly checked to measure any movements of the ground and assess if there is a need for additional measures. 

The majority of the monitors for Cedarvale Station were installed in late 2016/early 2017. Read more »

Kennedy Station North Entrance Demolition and Pedestrian Tunnel Closure

Kennedy Station will be the terminal station at the eastern end of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT line. Kennedy Station is an interchange station with connections to the GO Transit Stouffville Line, the TTC Scarborough RT, the TTC Bloor-Danforth subway, and a TTC bus terminal. Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT Kennedy Station will include upgrades to the existing Kennedy Station infrastructure.

Overnight Sanitary Sewer Line Diversion Work at Chaplin Station

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Crews are installing a new sanitary sewer system along Eglinton Avenue West between Chaplin Crescent and Latimer Avenue.  As part of this work, diversion of the existing sanitary sewer service line is required on several occasions over the course of the work.  Diversion work involves cutting into the existing sanitary sewer pipe and temporarily diverting the flow of sewage while the new sanitary sewer infrastructure is installed.
