Geotechnical Monitoring and Instrumentation Works at Eglinton Station

What Work is Taking Place?

  • Crews will drill several boreholes in the Eglinton Station area to install monitoring equipment that measures settlement or movement in the existing structures during the forthcoming shoring (support of excavation).
  • Work will take place intermittently along Eglinton Avenue, Yonge Street, Cowbell Lane, Holly Street, Duplex Avenue, and Berwick Avenue, as crews move from one borehole to the next.

Update: Traffic Light Works at Laird Station

What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will begin to relocate traffic lights around the Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Drive intersection. Crews will also install a temporary signalized pedestrian crossing on Eglinton Avenue East, just west of Don Avon Drive. Pending permits and approvals, work will commence to reconfigure the traffic lights and introduce traffic staging at the Yonge-Eglinton intersection to prepare for upcoming utilities relocations.

What work is Taking Place?

  • To prepare for future construction of Eglinton Station, crews will be conducting Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations along Eglinton Avenue between Duplex Avenue and Holly Street.
  • Crews will drill bore holes and use a hydro-vacuum truck within the roadway to determine the location of the underground utilities and the ground conditions around the intersection for design purposes.
