Crane Installation at the Salvation Army Site (Cowbell Lane) for Eglinton Station Construction

As early as Monday, March 22, 2021 crews at Eglinton Station will install a crane within the Salvation Army site at the corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Cowbell Lane. The crane will be used to facilitate construction of the Eglinton Station Box and East Tunnel Ventilation Shaft.  Construction activities include rebar, steel, and formwork installations. 

Properties adjacent to the crane will not have live loads swung over them; loads are expected to remain within the work zone. The crane will remain in place through to approximately December 2021. 

What to Expect

Use of the crane to lift and load materials into the Salvation Army excavation site at Eglinton Avenue East and Cowbell Lane. Site lighting can be expected. Noise from construction activity, including material loading, hammering, and crane movements can be expected. All property access will be maintained. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection.

Hours of Work

•    As early as Monday March 22, 2021. 

•    The crane will remain in place through to approximately December 2021.

•    Work at the Salvation Army site is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  

•    Extended construction hours are currently underway and will continue during this work.  

•    This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

•    No changes to the current traffic configuration and/or pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work.

•    Access to TTC will always be maintained.
