What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will be constructing curbs along Eglinton Avenue East, west of Rosemount Drive beginning August 17, 2020 for approximately two weeks. To safely perform these activities, the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East will be closed in front of the work zone. Curbs will be constructed within the driveway of 2300-2312 Eglinton Ave East and a driveway closure will be required. Access will be maintained through the secondary driveway. All works are in support of the construction of the Crosstown LRT tracks and guideway (dedicated transit lane) in the centre of Eglinton Avenue East.

 

What to Expect

Curb construction activities include concrete removals, excavation, asphalting and final paving. Noise from construction equipment and crews can be expected. 

 

HOURS OF WORK

Work will begin as early as August 17, 2020 and continue for approximately two weeks. 

Work may occur from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven (7) days per week, Monday through Sunday.

Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.

 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Closure of the west driveway at 2300-2312 Eglinton Avenue East. Access will be maintained through the secondary driveway. 

 

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

There will be a sidewalk closure on the north side of Eglinton Ave E, west of Rosemount Drive. 

The pedestrian walkway will be available on the south side of Eglinton Ave E. 

Signage will be installed in advance of the closure. 

 

OTHER IMPACTS

Due to the nature of this work, at times there will be noise around the work area.
