April 20, 2017

Over the last few months, the tunnel contractor has begun decommissioning the Launch Shaft site at Brentcliffe Road to make way for the station contractor. There will be no change to the footprint of the site. However, as tunnel work has concluded, preparatory works will now begin for the next phase of LRT construction.

Beginning as early as late April, crews will be completing work on abandoned Bell Utility structures located within the existing Launch Shaft site. All work will be completed within the existing work zone and there will be no additional impacts to traffic or pedestrians.

  • Work is expected to begin as early as late April 2017 and will take up to one month to complete.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Pedestrians, businesses and residents near the work site can expect to hear pavement cutting, trucks, excavators, and other construction equipment.
