What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Monday November 22, 2021, crews at Fairbank Station will continue sidewalk restoration work on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, west of Dufferin Street. The sidewalk between Dufferin Street and Shortt Street will be removed and reconstructed.  To facilitate this work, temporary pedestrian rerouting may be in effect between Dufferin Street and Shortt Street. Ramps will be temporarily installed at the building entrances to maintain accessible business and property access. This work is expected to take place for two (2) weeks between approximately 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. 


What to Expect

Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and trucks, can be expected. Property access will be maintained at all times.



  • As early as Monday November 22, 2021, for approximately two (2) weeks.
  • This work will take place between 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected. 



  • No changes to the current traffic configuration as a result of this work.



  •    Pedestrians may be temporarily rerouted around areas where sidewalk construction is taking place.



  • All TTC bus stops will remain in their current locations.
