Dewatering Works at Howard Talbot Park

Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue


What Work is Taking Place?
 

Beginning as early as November 11, 2019, the Leaside team will perform dewatering work in a small section of Howard Talbot Park at the south east corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue (work zone depicted below). Work will begin as early as November 11, 2019 and continue for up to three (3) weeks. A fence will be installed around the work zone and the landscaping will be restored upon completion of the work.

Timing  

  • Beginning as early as November 11, 2019 and continuing for three (3) weeks.
  • Works are ongoing between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. 

What to Expect

  • Dewatering work will be performed around the City’s existing water main at Howard Park.   
  • Crews will conduct vertical drilling of wells and trenches to connect to the existing dewatering system.
  • Restoration and reinstatement of landscaping will be done following the completion of the work.
  • A fence will be installed around the work zone for public safety.

Pedestrian Impacts

  • Howard Talbot Park pathway on the east side of the Main Entrance will be closed. 

Transit Information 

  • There is no impact to existing TTC stops.

Travelling Smart during Construction 

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
