DON VALLEY PARKWAY OFF-RAMP RESTORED

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

In August, 2019 a temporary off-ramp was constructed at the Don Valley Parkway East to accommodate guideway construction in front of the Don Valley Parkway. As guideway construction progresses, the original off-ramp will be reinstated and two lanes restored (depicted below) as early as November 8, 2019.

All works are in support of the construction of the Crosstown LRT tracks and guideway (dedicated transit lane) in the center of Eglinton Avenue East.

 TIMING

  • Traffic will be diverted back to the original Don Valley Parkway off-ramp as early as November 8, 2019 and remain in place permanently.
  • Guideway construction will continue through 2020.
  • Work may occur between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, seven (7) days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, we will endeavor to provide reasonable notice.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Guideway construction includes cutting and removal of asphalt, excavation, installation of subgrade materials, duct bank and track drainage installation, and track slab and stop construction.
  • Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone. As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
