What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be continuing civil road work in relation to road widening and curb relocation activities on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East between Pharmacy Avenue and Hakimi Avenue. 

Starting as early as April 1, 2019, and lasting for approximately two (2) weeks, there will be driveway access restrictions at the western driveway along Eglinton Ave East of 1901 Eglinton Ave East, with close proximity to Canadian Tire delivery/service entrance in order to safely carry out the work.

 

 

Hours of Work

Work is expected to begin as early as Monday, April 1, 2019 and lasting approximately two (2) weeks. 

This work may take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. 

The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion. 

Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

 

What to Expect

There will be partial driveway access restriction at the western driveway during this work. 

Partial access restrictions involves restricting one half of the driveway, a single lane will always be maintained.

A flag person will be present to direct traffic during this restriction.

Signage will be installed to direct customers to open driveways to access the property.

Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from excavators, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment.

For safety, fencing, dust cloth, barriers, and scaffolding may be erected around work zones.

Noise, dust and lighting from construction activity can be expected.

Expect delays when traveling near work zones.
