What Work is Taking Place
As part of the ongoing construction for the future surface alignment of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will begin driveway tie-ins and boulevard restoration on Eglinton Avenue East, between Rosemount Drive and Kennedy Road. Partial or full driveway closures may be required at some properties along Eglinton Avenue East to ensure that driveways are aligned with the grading of the road.
Driveway closures are expected to last for a duration of one week each. Where possible, vehicles will be directed to use alternative driveway access.
Notice will be given to affected properties prior to work commencing.
Hours of Work
• Work will begin April 20, 2020 and last for approximately three (3) months.
• Driveway closures are expected to last for a period of one (1) week each.
• This work will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
• Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
• Noise from construction equipment, such as cranes, trucks and generators, as well as site lighting can be expected.
• Signage will be in place to direct vehicles to alternative entrances where applicable.
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
• Periodic sidewalk interruptions may occur, and pedestrians may be directed to a temporary sidewalk.
• Temporary daily lane restrictions may occur during work hours.
• A minimum of one lane of eastbound and westbound through traffic will be maintained during this work
• Emergency services access will be maintained at all times.
TTC Impacts
• Temporary TTC bus stops may be impacted during this work.
• Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely, while minimizing impact on the community and customers
